100 Things About Me

  1. I was born in Omaha, NE.
  2. My birthday is "quatorze juillet"
  3. As a small child I remember being "connected" to the other side.
  4. I wondered if this life was a dream that we would wake up from when we died.
  5. I grew up in Wichita, KS.
  6. I've been married 3 times.
  7. I have 4 wonderful children.
  8. My husband has been married 6 times. If you factor the marriages, then I've been married once and my husband has been married 3 times. :o)
  9. For me the third time IS the charm!
  10. My mother is the only girl in her family.
  11. She had 10 brothers.
  12. I'm also the only girl in my family
  13. I have 2 living brothers.
  14. My oldest brother (still younger than me) died in 2007.
  15. Of the four of us I have the only girls.
  16. My brothers' children are all boys.
  17. I have 2 girls and 2 boys, in that order.
  18. My oldest child was born in 1973.
  19. My youngest was born in 1992.
  20. I'm obsessed with craft and art reference books.
  21. I have so many books that I'm running out of places to put them.
  22. Over half my books are fiber related.
  23. Only a small percentage are fiction.
  24. I learned to knit when I was 8 years old.
  25. I work at a community college.
  26. In school I played the clarinet and oboe.
  27. I taught myself to play the flute.
  28. My oldest daughter plays the cello.
  29. My youngest daughter plays the flute
  30. My youngest son plays the trumpet
  31. My oldest son can't carry a tune in a bucket. ;oP
  32. I have to have coffee in the morning...
  33. ...and a beer at night.
  34. My grandmother will turn 100 years old in Dec 2006. (She passed away Thanksgiving 2006)
  35. She lived at home til the end.
  36. I have 4 grandchildren.
  37. I have to be creating at all times.
  38. If I'm interested in something I want to know everything there is to know about it and become quite obsessed.
  39. I own 2 spinning wheels and a multitude of spindles.
  40. I own 6 looms and several weaveits.
  41. My fiber fascination has taken over my house but no one in the family complains about all of my stuff.
  42. I love making my own yarn!
  43. I love rich saturated color.
  44. I have no "favorite color" They just need to be saturated.
  45. I like to figure things out for myself.
  46. I'm VERY visual.
  47. I have a degree in Visual Communications
  48. I graduated Summa Cum Laude.
  49. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, however I'm getting closer to figuring it out.
  50. I should just be myself.
  51. I get as much satisfaction looking at the yarn I create as I do using it to create something else.
  52. I'm on the computer waaaay too much and could probably get more accomplished creatively if I didn't have one.
  53. Without the internet I wouldn't know as much as I do about knitting, spinning, or dyeing.
  54. I like action movies.
  55. My husband is my best friend.

  60. and all I have to do is knit him something occasionally and do his laundry to make him think I'm the most wonderful woman in the world.
  61. He has moved to the other side of the country for work.

  63. I get a piece of jewelry every Valentine's Day - usually a ring - from my husband.
  64. He's the first man in my life that ever gave me jewelry.
  65. I've lived in 3 states - Kansas, Colorado, and Oregon.
  66. I've lived in Oregon almost half of my life.
  67. The first few winters in Oregon were hard because of the lack of sunlight.
  68. Now if the sun is shining and it's cold out it just seems wrong.
  69. I don't like snow very much
  70. Once a year is okay, especially if it means I don't have to go to work.
  71. I have very eclectic tastes when it comes to music and literature.
  72. I hate soap operas.
  73. I have a very loose definition of what constitutes a soap opera.
  74. Most of my life I've felt like I was on the fringe of society.
  75. I like camping as long as it involves warm weather.
  76. Photography is another one of my passions.
  77. I'm very good at math.
  78. I love algebra.
  79. My kids hate math and didn't do well in it at school (except for the oldest).
  80. My oldest child is going to CU getting her degree in music education.
  81. I am an artist.
  82. I consider myself an extroverted introvert .
  83. I'm not impressed by fame or wealth.
  84. I don't want to be famous but a little extra cash would be nice.
  85. Sushi is on the top of my favorite foods list.
  86. A good IPA is a thing of beauty.
  87. I like white wines
  88. I have no pets.
  89. Most of my friends and children have pets.
  90. I enjoy learning about other cultures and the lives of the women in those cultures.
  91. My ears are pierced, twice in each ear.
  92. I am moving soon.
  93. I drive a Subaru.
  94. I hate wearing pantyhose.
  95. I collect frogs.
  96. I never wanted to be another person and could never answer the question, "who would you be if you could be anyone else?"
  97. I don't listen to the news.
  98. I make my own soap.
  99. I want to try making my own stuff at least once, just to know it's possible.
  100. I get together once a month with 3 very good friends and we do something creative. Mostly to do with fiber.
